About Sue and Her Qualifications
I was born in Essex in 1960, I moved to Guernsey in the Channel Islands when I was four years old with my parents. In 1984 I moved to Luxembourg with my husband and two year old daughter. The same year I was widowed, so moved to the West Country.
In 1985 I married again and in 1986 I had my son. I moved to the Midlands and trained to be a foster carer. In 2007 we moved back to the West Country and I still live in South Chard today. I divorced in 2004 and started another new chapter of my life.
Both my children are now grown up and over the years I have fostered many other children. I have a passion for helping others and care greatly about other people's wellbeing.
I trained as a Hypno Psychotherapist with the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy (NHCP) in Oxford. As part of my training I have also studied NLP and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). I am committed to continued personal development and in my spare time can usually be found studying.
I am a member of the National Register for Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist (NRHP). NRHP registered therapists will abide by a code of ethics set out by their professional governing body and their practice will be suitably insured. They will have been professionally trained and will be committed to maintaining their professional expertise through a continuous professional development programme.
They will also have regular and appropriate professional supervision and consultative support and the client will at all times be treated with respect and discretion. The entire therapeutic relationship will be treated as confidential as explained by the therapist at the initial consultation.
About the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy
The National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy has been offering respected, evidence based and independently accredited hypnotherapy training, hypnosis training and psychotherapy training since 1977. This makes the National College one of the longest established and most respected hypnotherapy/hypno-psychotherapy training institutes in the world.
These days, the general public is ever more aware of what should be expected from a complementary medicine or psychotherapy practitioner. When they are looking for a reputable hypno-psychotherapist people will, increasingly, need to be assured that the practitioner has completed an accredited training and belongs to a recognised professional association which requires members to adhere to a code of ethics and carry appropriate insurance. The informed potential client will know that a well-regulated professional body should have a complaints procedure and will require members to be in ongoing supervision/peer supervision.
The NCHP is accredited by The United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
